Healing Circles

Healing Circles – Application Criteria (Phase 1)


1. Who Can Apply


Healing Circles are open to:

  • Single working mothers (formally employed, self-employed, or contract-based)
  • Women who are the primary caregivers of their children
  • Mothers experiencing emotional, mental, or psychological strain related to:
     
    • Single parenting
    • Financial pressure
    • Relationship breakdown
    • Workplace stress
    • Parenting challenges


  • Women who are willing to participate in a faith-based, values-driven support environment
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older
  • South African citizens or permanent residents


Please note: Priority will be given to mothers who demonstrate both need and readiness to commit to the programme.


2. Available Programmes (Phase 1)

Healing Circles (Primary Focus – Phase 1)

A structured, facilitated support programme designed to help single working mothers:

  • Process emotional and psychological burdens
  • Heal from trauma, loss, or prolonged stress
  • Build emotional resilience and self-worth
  • Reconnect with purpose, identity, and faith
  • Develop healthy coping mechanisms and support systems


Programme Format:

  • Group-based sessions (in-person or virtual)
  • Facilitated by trained practitioners
  • Biblically grounded and trauma-informed
  • Safe, confidential, and supportive environment

Healing Circles form the foundation of all other SheBylds Foundation programmes.


3. Application Process

  1. Complete the online application form via the “Apply for Support” page
  2. Applications are reviewed based on:
     
    • Eligibility
    • Demonstrated need
    • Programme suitability
    • Commitment level


3. Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for:
 

  • A brief telephonic or virtual screening


4. Successful applicants will receive:

  • A confirmation email
  • Programme guidelines and schedule

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance due to limited capacity.


4. Important Dates

  • Applications Open: 05 January 2026
  • Applications Close: To be confirmed 
  • Review Period: February 2026
  • Programme Start Date: March 2026


Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Education Financial Aid

1. Who Can Apply

Education Financial Aid is open to:

• Single working mothers who are the primary caregivers of their children

• Mothers with children enrolled in:

• Primary school

• Secondary school

• Tertiary institutions (public universities, TVET colleges)

• Applicants experiencing financial strain that impacts:

• School fee payments

• Learning continuity

• Access to educational resources

• Mothers whose children are not qualifying for traditional funding due to household income thresholds

• South African citizens or permanent residents

• Applicants willing to participate in financial education and follow-up support

Priority will be given to households where education disruption is imminent or ongoing.


2. Available Programmes (Phase 1)

Education Financial Aid & School Support

A targeted support programme designed to:

• Prevent school dropout due to financial constraints

• Support payment of:

• School fees (partial assistance)

• Uniforms

• Stationery and learning materials

• Provide guidance on:

• Funding applications (NSFAS, bursaries, scholarships)

• School negotiations and payment plans

• Support children’s academic continuity and emotional wellbeing

Support Model:

• Financial assistance is needs-based and partial

• Paid directly to schools or service providers where possible

• Combined with parental financial education and accountability


3. Application Process

1. Complete the online application form via the “Apply for Support” page

2. Submit required supporting documents:

• Proof of income

• School confirmation or invoice

• Child identification documents

3. Applications are assessed based on:

• Financial need

• Risk of educational disruption

• Eligibility and completeness of documentation

4. Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for clarification or verification

5. Successful applicants will receive:

• A written confirmation

• Details of approved support and conditions

Approval is subject to available funding and does not guarantee full coverage of costs.

• Disbursement / Support Start Date: TBA

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
